I feel like you've written about Somisomi before, right? I Googled it--it looks delicious and it must be fun watching a little brother eat ice cream! Good thing the gopher didn't get it! I hear your voices coming through your haiku.
I'm attending a native garden plant tour today so I'll be away from my computer and devices for most of the day, but I can't wait to check back for your haiku this evening! There's a chance I may add some about fabulous flowers too!
I love all the haiku you're posting. I also posted mine over in the chat because that allows me to add a photo, but I can take care of that by adding a title to my haiku for today.
Hi Ellie! I love that I actually know some of your cousins. You are so lucky to have these memories already at a young age. Isn't SLINKY a fun word? It sounds like what it is! Thank you!

Dinner with Our Pastor
Sharing shepherd's pie
with soul shepherd and his wife,
Swapping soul glimpses
I love all the connections in this poem!
The Gopher by Julia:
There was a gopher
I walked to the big hole
It was very furry!
Ice Cream by Lana:
At Somi Somi
My brother begs for ice cream
We all enjoyed it!

Yes, I think that's right! Lana wrote about Somisomi in last summer's FOW. We're loving your poetry challenge!
I love that you're doing it with the girls. I hear all of your writing voices so clearly.

spring wind whips the field
dances with the soccer ball:
stamp numb feet and cheer
2
cradle charcoal mug
breathe in its cinnamon steam:
then go back outside
Abigail, thank you for this pair of haiku. I'm cold and then I'm warm and then I'm cold again! Love it.

Haiku: Pie Fail
I'm not a baker
looked pretty but tasted bad

Christmas at Grandma’s
cousins happy together

Soul gone from body
Music remains
Forever in memory
In memory of a dear friend who suddenly left this lifetime”
A beautiful tribute haiku. There is sound in this one. Thank you and so sorry for your loss.
Thank you.

Hi Beloved Brother! You may be a poet yet! Thanks so much for your haiku. Hoping you get connected soon.
