Summer Writing Fun!
Pick up a pen and join us in person, at home, or on your travels.
My husband and I just got back from a lovely neighborhood walk in shorts and t-shirts. We left at 7 PM and it was still light outside. Lovely summer feels like it has arrived in my neck of the woods. I even contemplated wearing white jeans to church this morning, but that felt like I was tempting fate since I’m sure our coastal June gloom is right around the corner.
I hope you’re feeling the anticipation of summer and planning to do a bit more of the things you love. With that in mind, here are some writing invitations I’m offering to help your creative spirits soar! Some are in person. Some are online. Some are offerings you do on your own. Hopefully, there’s something for everyone.
The Ladies Table: June 13, July 25, and/or August 22
An afternoon of writing with amazing women at my house in Palos Verdes, CA. Our theme for the summer is WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL ALIVE. You can attend one, two, or all three.
June is sold out. One spot for July. Two spots available for August.
If you joined me for Family of Writers in the past, it’s the same vibe, but without the kids and better snacks. The big bonus is that I’m co-teaching with the amazing Stacy Upton.
Kindly share this with friends who might also be interested. It’s going to be SO GOOD!

1-Hour Retreat: Summer
I shared this post last year, but I designed it to be used over and over again. When I did my summer retreat last year, I wrote while sitting on Lembert Dome in Yosemite. This August, I will be on that same massive piece of granite for our 25th wedding anniversary!
That should do it friends. Let me know if you have any questions. Here’s to a wonderful summer.
Always writing,
P.S. Coming September 7-11, the Fourth Annual Poetry Pie Writing Challenge. It’s a haiku-writing fest that’s fun for the entire family! Details coming soon.
P.S.S. Just an FYI, I still intend to post more about my my personal learning plan template, but I’m testing and tweaking the details so it’s just right. Thanks for your patience.
